MyNextDays Calendar App Review
published on: 10/17/2011 Tags: /wp_reviewsby Karl Stein
MyNextDays is a Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) calendar App that displays the upcoming appointments in a list view and a week view. Rather than displaying useless graphics, the App focusses on the textual information of an appointment. In addition to displaying the complete list of future appointments, it is also possible to view only the appointments of today, tomorrow, this week or next week, all on separate pages . If you have multiple accounts (calendars), then you can select all or only a subset of them. You can search for an appointment by entering its date or its subject information.
The week view shows a grid:
Tap on any appointment to display its details:
If location data are available, then you can use Bing Maps to calculate routeing informations.
Supported languages: english, german, french, and italian.

Metro Principle - Typography must be beautiful

This is why i dislike this site, it just panders to the masses - seriously 5.0?
FYI: Typography. Type is beautiful. Not only is it attractive to the eye, but it can also be functional. The right balance of weight and positioning can create a visual hierarchy. Additionally, well placed type can help lead you to more content.
Do you think the app in question pulled a 5.0 in Metro Design principles?

@thomas: We are happy to let you know that the app profile now correctly displays the price as 0.99. It turned out that with the new zune client they also changed the marketplace service again.
@Scott Barnes: Thank you for sharing your opinion with the community Scott. Obviously, having only positive feedback is not so good, and having people that require more and are willing to share their feedback is what drives things forward.
Also, you should have in mind that we are not responsible for the ratings that our readers give to reviews, articles, and other content on the site. However, if many people have rated highly then the app must be doing something good. And you are also free to give a lower rating than the average.
Finally, many developers struggle with making apps their conform with the Metro Design principles and using typography. However, we prefer to view this as an opportunity for the members of the community that are more used to applying these design principles to teach the others.

Great - but we miss the function to change the color of the tile

We like the app very much, 0.99 Euro is o.k. - the search functionality is great, it is easy to use. One minor topic: How can I change the color of the tile ... it is not really important - but I don't likethe light blue within my nice green tiles ;)
Current version improved

Just downloaded the "Trial" to see if it was an improvement over the standard. I don't have any clue on all it's functions, all Ilnow is I can now look at the month and weeks view an know what's on my calendar. For me that is THE most important thing. I'm going to buy it just for that reason.
